The 13th Annual Awards Ceremony was held Saturday, 27 Sep 1997 at the Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral, Florida. Winners for the contest year 1 Oct 1995 to 30 Sep 1996 attended. Astronaut Norman Thagard participated in the ceremony. The Illustrators Workshop were held at the Radisson Hotel in Port Canaveral. Frank Frazetta did the cover for L. Ron Hubbard Presents Writers of the Future Vol XIII which was released at the event.
Each volume contains creative tales selected by top authors in the speculative fiction field, and also includes articles on writing and illustration from the foremost writers and artists in the genre including L.
